Who we are

This website is operated by JustAuto Premium Car Garage ("JustAuto", "we", "us", "our"), a car garage based in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, serving customers across Cavan, Monaghan and the border counties.

We're a small, local business, and we take a plain, straightforward approach to your data, in keeping with how we run everything else: no unnecessary collection, no unclear purposes, no selling your details on.

What personal data we collect

We collect personal data in a small number of ways:

When you contact or book with us. If you fill in the contact form on this site, call us, email us, or message us to ask about a service or book your car in, we collect what you give us — typically your name, phone number, email address (if provided) and the content of your message, along with any vehicle details you share (make, model, registration, the fault you're describing).

When you use the website. Like most websites, this site is hosted on Wix (see "Website hosting and analytics" below), which automatically collects some technical information as part of running the site — things like your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and how you got to the site. We use this only in aggregate, to understand how the site is used and to keep it running properly; we don't use it to identify you personally.

We do not knowingly collect payment card details, bank details, or other sensitive financial information through this website — any payment for work carried out is handled separately, in person or by other means, not via the site.

How we use your data

We use the personal data described above to:

  • Respond to enquiries and quote for work

  • Arrange, confirm and carry out bookings for servicing, repairs, NCT prep and related work

  • Keep a record of your vehicle and service history, so we can give you consistent, accurate advice on future visits

  • Understand and improve how the website is used

  • Meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations as a VAT-registered, insured garage

Our legal basis for this is, depending on the situation: that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract with you (e.g. quoting a job), necessary to perform that contract once agreed, necessary for our legitimate interests in running the business and the website (kept proportionate to your rights), or necessary to comply with a legal obligation (for example, tax and insurance record-keeping).

We do not use your data for marketing emails or texts unless you've separately agreed to that, and we do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

The contact form

The contact form on this site is built using Wix's website tools. When you submit it, your details are sent to us and stored in our Wix dashboard (Wix's site-management system), so we can see, respond to and keep a record of enquiries. Wix Studio's/Wix.com's own handling of this data as our website provider and processor is covered in their privacy policy — see "Website hosting and analytics" below.

Website hosting and analytics

This website is built and hosted on Wix.com. Wix acts as a data processor on our behalf for information submitted through the site (including the contact form) and collects certain technical data automatically as part of providing hosting, security and site analytics — for example, IP address, device and browser information, and general usage statistics. We don't run separate third-party analytics or advertising trackers (such as Google Analytics or Meta/Facebook Pixel) alongside Wix's own tools.

Fonts. This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font from Google's servers can involve your device sending a request that includes your IP address to Google, in the same way it would to any server hosting a file the page needs. Google's handling of this is covered in Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

This website uses cookies placed by the Wix platform to make the site work properly — for example, to remember basic session information and to support site security and performance. These are largely the kind of "strictly necessary" or functional cookies a site needs to run.

If that ever changes — for example, if we add analytics or advertising cookies in future — we'll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent via a cookie banner before those cookies are set.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as is reasonably useful for an ongoing customer relationship and vehicle service history, and in any event no longer than necessary for the purposes set out above, or as required by tax, insurance and other legal obligations (generally up to six years for financial records, in line with Irish requirements). If you ask us to delete your details and we have no legal reason to keep them, we will.

Sharing your data

We don't sell or rent your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Wix.com, as our website and forms provider, to the extent described above

  • Our accountant, insurer or similar professional advisers, where necessary to run the business

  • Any party we're required to share it with by law (for example, Revenue or another public authority, if legally compelled)

We don't transfer your data outside the EEA ourselves; where our service providers (such as Wix) do so as part of their own infrastructure, that transfer is governed by their own safeguards and privacy policy, referenced above.

Your rights

Under GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (right of access)

  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (right to rectification)

  • Ask us to delete your data, where there's no good reason for us to keep it (right to erasure)

  • Ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances

  • Object to our use of your data where it's based on legitimate interests

  • Ask for your data in a portable format, where relevant

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on consent

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details at the top of this policy. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's supervisory authority, at www.dataprotection.ie.

Children's privacy

This website and our services are aimed at adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal data we hold, including relying on the security measures built into the Wix platform. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we don't hold more data than we need, and we don't keep it for longer than necessary.
